Today students took the Ch 17 - Section 3 Quiz

After the quiz students did the Chapter Review (pp. 573-575) to prepare for tomorrow’s Ch 17 TEST.

We have now completed our textbook. I will collect the books and assess fines tomorrow. Remember these textbooks were BRAND NEW this school year.

After tomorrow’s TEST we will begin some lessons on Personal Finance. These will be done in class each day.

When we complete the finance lessons, we will begin a study of the Civil Rights movement, focusing on the “Little Rock Nine” situation.

Students completed the Ch 17 - Section 3 Study Guide to prepare for tomorrow’s Quiz

The next TEST will be on Ch 17 and will be given on Wednesday, May 6.

Students were given a POP Quiz on Ch 17 - Section 2. They were allowed to use the charts that they were supposed to complete on Wednesday and the questions that they were supposed to finish for homework last night.

The classes (1st, 2nd, 4th ) that have not finished “Gone With the Wind” watched another segment after the Quiz. Section 3 completed the Civil War Activity Packet.

Today in class we made a map of the Military Districts in the South during Reconstruction. Students then answered questions on the back of the map and turned it in.

Students completed a chart from Section 2. The outline for the chart is on the board.

There will be a Quiz on Ch 17 - Section 1 tomorrow. Students need to complete the Key Terms and People on p. 552 and answer questions 1-3 on p. 557. They also need to study the chart made in class yesterday on the different plans for Reconstruction.

Today in class we began talking about Reconstruction. We discussed the Ten Percent Plan and The Wade-Davis Bill. Students were assigned the reading of Ch 17 - Section 1 (pp.552-557) and a handout with questions This assignment needs to be completed for homework. Tomorrow students need to be prepared to compare/contrast the Ten Percent Plan, the Wade-Davis Bill, and President Johnson’s Plan for Reconstruction.

Students presented Civil War projects in class today.

Students were assigned Ch 16 Review - questions 1-10 0n pp. 545-546. This needs to be completed for homework.

Today in class we learned about the conspiracy surrounding the planned kidnapping and ultimate assassination of Abraham Lincoln.

Students had a little time to work on their projects during class.

Homework:

Finish Civil War Projects and be prepared to present in class tomorrow. Anyone who is not prepared to present will be REQUIRED to take the Ch 16 TEST. NO LATE projects will be accepted.

Instructions were given for the Civil War project, which will be presented in class on Thursday, April 23. Please see handout for guidelines. Any student who does not participate MUST take the Ch 16 TEST in class on Thursday, while others do the presentations.

Students had to finish the Coach Book Tests.

Students were assigned Ch 16 - all Key Terms and People - that was turned in before leaving class. If not finished in class, it must be turned in tomorrow.

TCAP Testing lasted until 11:00.

Classes meeting after testing began watching “Gone With the Wind” as part of our study of the Civil War.
