Students took the comprehension/vocab Quiz on Chapters V and VI of Johnny Tremain.

After the Quiz we worked on pp. 5-6 of the Q2 Project Booklet.

There will be a TEST on Chapters I-VI of Johnny Tremain on Tuesday, November 10. This will be a comprehension TEST over the story, no vocabulary. The TEST will have True/False and Fill in the Blank Questions. Students need to begin reviewing all of their Study Questions to prepare for this TEST.

Students finished yesterday’s Ch 5 Quiz, if necessary.

Students also completed the vocab/study questions for Ch V and Ch VI of Johnny Tremain. They will need to STUDY this tonight to prepare for tomorrow’s Quiz. Many students did not do well on the last JT Quiz.

Students read Ch 5 – section 4 of the textbook (pp. 170-173) and were given the Map “Ratifying the Constitution” to complete. There is an”Extension Activity”on the back of the map which also must be completed and stapled to the map. If not finished in class, this may be finished for homework and turned in tomorrow.

Q2 Project In Class Workday – pp. 5-6

Students turned in the Johnny Tremain Vocabulary sheet on OPPOSITE word meanings that was assigned on Friday.

Students also turned in the Vocab/Study Questions for Ch V of Johnny Tremain.

We listened to Ch VI of JT and students completed the Study Questions for Ch VI. For homework students need to complete the vocab sentences.

Tomorrow there will be a Quiz on Ch 5 – Sections 1 and 2 of the textbook. The Quiz will be Open Notes. Students may use their Section 1 and 2 Notes and the Key Terms/People for Sections 1 and 2. NO TEXTBOOKS – NOTES ONLY!!!!!

On Friday we will take a comprehension/vocab Quiz on JT.

After the Quiz on Friday, there will be a Q2 Project in class workday for pp. 5-6.

Students continued working on the Vocabulary Worksheet for Ch III and Ch IV of Johnny Tremain. This was assigned on Friday and students did not have time to finish in class. This assignment will be due tomorrow. Section 4 attended an assembly and was not assigned this vocabulary.

We listened to Ch V of Johnny Tremain and students received the Vocabulary and Study Questions. They need to finish for homework tonight. All classes must turn in this assignment tomorrow.

On Friday there will be a Quiz on comprehension and vocabulary from Ch V and Ch VI of Johnny Tremain.

After the JT Quiz on Friday, we will have a Q2 Project Workday. We will work on pp. 5-6.

Today students turned in their Q2 Booklets and I checked them for a completion grade (classwork) They should have completed the Cover, Table of Contents, and pp. 1-4.

I returned the Ch IV work for Johnny Tremain. There will be a comprehension and vocabulary Quiz over Chapters III and IV tomorrow.

Students were to complete the Key Terms and People for Ch 5 – Sections 1 and 2 and the Section 2 notes. Some of them may need to finish for homework.

Johnny Tremain vocabulary for Ch IV was checked for a homework grade.

Students listened to Ch IV and completed the study questions.

Homework: Complete page 4 of the Q2  Booklet. By tomorrow the Cover, Table of Contents, and pp. 1-4 should be completed and turned in.

On Friday there will be a comprehension and vocabulary Quiz on Ch III and Ch IV of Johnny Tremain.

Today in class we checked over the map “Northwest Territories.” There were numerous careless mistakes made on this simple assignment Also, many students did not finish and many turned in nothing.

We had an in class work day to continue working on our Booklets. Students received explicit instructions for completing pp. 2 – 3.

Homework tonight: Vocabulary for Ch IV of Johnny Tremain. This will be checked for a completion grade tomorrow.

On Friday there will be a comprehension and vocabulary Quiz on Ch III and Ch IV of Johnny Tremain.

Today students turned in Ch 5 – Section 1 notes and questions 1 – 3 on p. 155 for a homework completion grade.

We then listened to Ch III of Johnny Tremain and completed the vocabulary and study questions.

Tomorrow will be an in class workday for our Booklets. We will complete pp. 2 and 3.

There will be a Quiz over Ch III and Ch IV of Johnny Tremain on Friday, October 30. VOCABULARY for these two chapters will be included on the Quiz.

Today all students were assigned the notes for Chapter 5 – Section 1. ALL answers should be written on a sheet of notebook paper. There is not room on the hand out to write thorough answers.

On the back of the hand out, students need to copy and answer questions 1 – 3 on p. 155.

Both assignments should be finished for homework and will be collected for a homework grade on Monday.

4th period students turned in maps ‘The Northwest Territories.”

5th period students need to finish the vocabulary for Ch III of Johnny Tremain.

We will read Ch III on Monday and do the study questions.

Booklet in class workday – Tuesday, October 27 – pp. 2 and 3

There will be a quiz on Ch III and Ch IV of Johnny Tremain on Friday, October 30.

2nd and 3rd period classes turned in their maps. We then studied A&E’s “Best and Worst Presidents”

4th period received the maps and must finish them for homework.

5th period turned in their maps and then we went to the Pep Rally.

Since our schedule has been a little discombobulated, I have made some changes in our itinerary:

For homework tonight ALL classes need to complete the vocabulary for Chapter III of Johnny Tremain.

The Booklet in class work day has been changed to Tuesday, October 27. We will be working on pp. 2 and 3.
