Today we checked and discussed the Executive Branch worksheet.

Students took the Quiz on the Legislative Branch.

We worked on p. 13 of the Q2 Notebook.

For homework students were assigned the Ch XI Vocab for Johnny Tremain.

Today in class we checked the vocabulary and study questions for Ch IX and Ch X of Johnny Tremain.

We also checked and discussed the Legislative Branch worksheet. We will have a Quiz on the Legislative Branch tomorrow. A Bonus question worth 5 points – What is the only state that does NOT have a bicameral legislature? Look it up!

Students began working on the Executive Branch. We will discuss in class tomorrow.

Students worked on p. 12 of the Q2 project. The cover, table of contents, and pp 1-12 should now be complete. The final project must be turned in on Thursday, December 10.

Today in class we listened to JT Ch X and answered the Study questions.

Students worked on p. 11 of their Q2 Notebook.

We will check the Legislative Branch questions in class tomorrow; everyone should be finished. We will have a Quiz on the Legislative Branch on Thursday.

We even have a project that will be due on JANUARY 4, 2010!!!!!

Today in class, students answered questions about the Legislative Branch as outlined in the Constitution. We will check and discuss these questions in class on Wednesday. All students should have finished these questions with the exception of #5, which they will need to answer for homework.

Students also worked on p. 10 of the Q2 Project (Use p. 201 and copy and answer the question) Turn your booklet sideways to make room for the Venn diagram. This should be finished for homework tonight.

December 7 – Study Guide covering characters in JT for TEST on 12/9

December 8 – Officer Landers will speak to my classes about the Amendments IV, V, VI. These are the

amendments concerning law enforcement. (I will be attending a Humanities class at Houston Middle.)

December 9 – TEST on ALL characters on JT (Study guide handed out on Monday, 12/7)

December 10 – Q2 Projects are due. This date has been changed due to my class on Tuesday.

December 15 – Amendments Quiz

December 17 – TEST on Johnny Tremain (covering entire book)

December 18 – LAST DAY for Students!!! Winter Break starts tomorrow

Students turned in the Q2 Project Notebook for a check of pp. 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9.

We began watching “National Treasure” to enhance our recent study of the Declaration of Independence.

Ch 6 – Section 1 handouts are due tomorrow and will be collected for a homework completion grade.

Today students worked on pp. 7, 8, and 9 of the Q2 Project. There will be a booklet check on Monday for pp. 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9.

On Tuesday students will need to turn in the Ch 6 – Section 1 worksheets.

Students who need to make up Quizzes, TESTS, etc. will do so during class on Monday and Tuesday.

2ND, 3RD, 5TH PERIODS:

We checked the vocab and study questions for JT Ch VIII. There will be a Quiz tomorrow on JT Ch VII and Ch VIII.

Students received the Study Guide for Ch 5 in the textbook. They also need to complete the Key Terms/People handouts. They will be allowed to use the Study Guide and Key Terms/People on Wednesday’s TEST.

4TH PERIOD:

Students listened to JT CH VIII and answered the Study Questions. There will be a Quiz tomorrow on JT CH VII and CH VIII.

Fourth Period did not meet today because we had our annual Veteran’s Day Assembly. I will catch them up on Thursday. They need to be prepared to take the JT Ch’s I-VI TEST they missed today.

All other classes took the JT TEST and received the JT Vocab for Ch VII, which needs to be completed for homework.

Thy also received the Ch 5 Section 4 Notes, which need to be finished for homework.

Students had about 30 minutes of class time to work on the JT Vocab and Section 4 Notes.
